Overview

I developed a print atlas for Rocky Mountain National Park, with a focus on clear, accessible design, and an additional spotlight on the geology of the national park.

Challenge

The goal of this project, completed at the NSCC Centre of Geographic Sciences, was to collect and clean a large quantity of social, transportation, elevation, and geological data to create a reference atlas. Large datasets were managed in ArcGIS Pro, and ModelBuilder tools were used to automate geoprocessing tasks. The 20-page atlas was created entirely in ArcGIS Pro, taking advantage of the publication tools in the software to produce a polished print product.

Impact

The final product was a reference atlas of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, USA. The atlas focused on the geological features of the park as well as reference components, including roads, visitor facilities, and natural features. The front plates of the atlas provide additional information about the geological timeline of the park.
