Challenge

Estimates suggest that between 430,000 and 480,000 new housing units are needed across Canada to meet current demands and retain housing affordability. The amount of new housing construction varies between provinces both in terms of scale and type, and it can be difficult to maintain a comprehensive overview of multiple housing-related variables. This project, completed at NSCC's Centre of Geographic Sciences, used Tableau Desktop to produce dashboards and stories summarizing key statistics on new housing construction in Canada.
