3D Cityscape Modelling

Inspired by Peter Atwood’s 3D Cityscapes.

Using LiDAR data from swisstopo, I created a 3D model of the old town in Zurich, Switzerland in Blender. I layered vegetation, buildings, and ground data to create a complete visualization of the train station and surrounding areas. I also layered vector road data over the ground surface to create a more detailed image.

I encountered challenges while trying to layer the ground and vegetation, but overcame these challenges by increasing the vertical exaggeration of the vegetation layer in order to make it stand out against the ground layer. I used Blender documentation and previous projects, including those by Peter Atwood, as guiding forces for this project.
